Goals

LEAP's mission is to promote environmental sustainability and climate justice through youth-led legislative efforts. We hope to empower students to become actively involved in legal and civic processes, so they can protect and improve their communities and the environment.

LEAP aims to foster a generation of informed, confident, and engaged young individuals who understand the mechanisms of the government and the power of legislative advocacy. This goal will be achieved by providing students with direct access to hands-on experiences in bill writing, public speaking, and legislative strategy.

Through structured workshops, collaborative legislative labs, and mentorship opportunities, LEAP will offer students comprehensive training on environmental lawmaking and civic engagement. LEAP is committed to equipping students with the tools to draft impactful legislation that addresses urgent environmental issues. By encouraging students to propose and advocate for sustainability-focused bills at the local and state levels, the program directly contributes to meaningful climate action.

The attainment of LEAP's objective will be tracked by enrollment numbers, school participation, student retention, and feedback from program evaluations, as well as the level of community and policymaker engagement generated by these initiatives will serve as a key indicator of impact.
